Here's a little look at the wedding dress I hesitantly altered and highlighted a section of in an earlier post. I just love this dress. Jen is my neighbor and I've known her since she was about 10 years old. She has grown into a very stylish young lady and I think the 1950's fitted silhouette looks fabulous on her. We put our heads together to come up with the style of the little cropped jacket and I made it out of ivory silk shantung. It seems a perfect compliment to this beautiful dress.

Oh my! I seriously LOVE that dress... but was there any doubt?
ReplyDeleteI love the dress and I seriously LOVE that tiny waist! It's really a 1/2 century since I've seen such a tiny waist in MY mirror. They're a beautiful couple. And how did you finally discover the shirring was attached?
ReplyDeleteGail, I love this dress and I can't believe that Jenn is also the same Jenn that I work with. I can't wait to see more of the pictures. She looks great in anything that she wears but you did a fab job on the dress,

Wow!Wow! That's 2 wow's, one for the dress and one for her waist. I don't ever think I had a waist that small even when I was a child! What a beautiful bride!! The jacket was made for the dress. How fun to work on that project. Jean G
ReplyDeleteFabulous, the dress and Jenn, the jacket is definitely the perfect comliment.
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful! And even better, you don't just notice the dress, you notice the beautiful bride first.
ReplyDeleteThank you again Gail! You did an absolute fabulous job on both the alteration and jacket for my dress. I cannot express how lovely and talented you are. Thank you for being such a wonderful neighbor.
